Production Operators
Entry Level - Responsibilities include, packaging, material handling, lifting up to 50 lbs. and other general labor as needed to produce packaged or bulk materials.  Minimal experience necessary – 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift positions available at various locations.

Mobile Equipment Operators
Previous mobile equipment or loader experience preferred (Loader, Yard Truck, Skidsteer and Forklift). Frequently lifting materials up to 50 lbs.

Maintenance and Repair Techs
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, CMMS reporting, repair and maintenance of semi-trailer fleet; working with mechanical equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic valves, cylinders, pumps, motors, conveyor systems, motor controls, breakers and PLC controls. Performs mechanical work including electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting.

Truck Drivers
Current CDL and 2 years previous driving experience with a clean driving record required. AWF rewards safe driving, incentivizes MPG performance, and has electronic logbooks.

 

Sales and Marketing Intern- Columbia, MD

Key Responsibilities:

•Provide competitive research and analysis support.
•Help with collection and synthesis of quantitative and qualitative data regarding market intelligence

Key Responsibilities:

•Accurately enter orders, coordinate shipment details with customers, internal production and shipping teams. Negotiate freight rates for delivery.
•Interacting with customers via phone and email, providing customer service excellence in a business-to-business (B2B) sales support environment.

Sales Analyst- Columbia, MD

American Wood Fibers (AWF), a rapidly growing manufacturer of consumer and industrial products sold to other manufacturers and to pet, agricultural and home heating markets, seeks a Sales Analyst based at its Columbia, Maryland Corporate Headquarters. AWF manufactures at 10 locations spanning the nation, has 400 employees, and generates over $115M in annual sales revenue.
Sales Analyst will be responsible for enabling American Wood Fibers to drive sales by providing objective sales and category analysis.
 

Key Responsibilities:

•Coordinates with sales team in developing annual sales plans, forecasts, category analysis and identifying key sales issues.
•Analyzes various forms of data including retailer POS, syndicated and loyalty card to identify business opportunities for the AWF sales team.
•Create and maintain daily, weekly and quarterly sales report by segment, customer and product group.
•Assists sales team in preparing annual category reviews and “Top to Top’ meetings by utilizing category and sales data.
•Analyzes the effects on the category and the efficiency of promotional programming at key retailers.
•Conducts competitive market analysis to assist sales team in growing sales.
•Responds to sales team request for data or relevant sales information.
 

Qualifications:

•Bachelors Degree required and 2 to 3 years in a related field. Manufacturing experience is highly desirable. •Must have basic category management knowledge.
•Ability to generate, interpret and analyze sales and market information required.
•Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel required.
•Demonstrated experience in syndicated databases (i.e. Nielsen, IRI)
•Experience in understanding major CPG retailers (e.g. Walmart, TSC, Petco) a plus.
•Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
•Some travel required (up to 30%)

National Accounts Manager- Columbia, MD

Sales Analyst will be responsible for enabling American Wood Fibers to drive sales by providing objective sales and category analysis.
 

Key Responsibilities:

•Develop new sales and profit growth opportunities.
•Obtain greater market share of existing accounts through strategic marketing campaigns and effective customer outreach programs.
•Prepare sales presentations for national, regional and local accounts to include new products and product positioning/pricing strategies.
•Collaborate with the sales team in defining, developing, and implementing sales and marketing objectives and strategies.
•Monitor, analyze, review and report on relevant sales, marketing and competitor activities and results.
•Contribute to AWF communications efforts including web site content, social network programs, blogs etc.
 

Qualifications:

•Bachelors degree in business, marketing, similar field OR equivalent work experience
•Minimum 7 to 10 years experience in sales to national food/drug/mass (FDM) retail chains (e.g. Walmart, TSC, Petsmart, Kroger, Safeway) and distributors (e.g. Phillips, Bradley Caldwell, True Value)
•Proven track record in consumer packaged goods (CPG) account management to include preparing and delivering business reviews, new product presentations, price negotiations and ongoing support
•Ability to generate, interpret and analyze sales and market information
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•Travel is required (40 to 50%).

General Manager- Marshall, TX

American Wood Fibers (AWF), a rapidly growing manufacturer of consumer and industrial products sold to other manufacturers and to pet, agricultural and home heating markets, seeks a General Manager based at its Marshall, TX facility. AWF manufactures at 10 locations spanning the nation, has 400 employees, and generates over $115M in annual sales revenue.
The General Manager will have P&L responsibility, responsible for managing staff and establishing and accomplishing business objectives.
 

Key Responsibilities:

•Responsible for all strategic and business operations (production, maintenance, safety, quality, and service) to include Profit and Loss (P&L).
•Effective decision making that positively impacts financial results, employee morale, and customer satisfaction.
•Assist with the direction and coordination of activities of departments concerned with the production and/or distribution of products.
•Manage staff (plant operations, maintenance, sales and office managers) effectively.
•Determine staffing requirements, and interview, hire and train new employees, or oversee those personnel processes.
•Maintain and promote a culture of continuous improvement regarding safety and good housekeeping.
•Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
•Assist in the preparation of annual budget/plan and weekly financial/production reports.
•Establish and implement facility policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with senior management, other General Managers and staff members as necessary.
•Collaborates with the sales team in defining, developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies.
•Raw material acquisition and finished goods inventory management
•Assist in development of forms and tools to increase company efficiency and risk management.
•Assist in recommendations for new product ideas and new market opportunities.
•Researches and analyzes market trends and competition.
 

Qualifications:

•Bachelors Degree and 5 years management experience OR 7+ years of equivalent experience
•10+ years of general and operations management experience
•Exceptional leadership, communication and organizational ability
•MS Office knowledge required
•Background in manufacturing, engineering/maintenance, wood products, and transportation highly preferred.
