Over the past 50 years, AWF has expanded beyond its specialty forest products, producing a broader array of offerings for industrial, commercial, consumer, and agricultural markets. Plant Supervisor

American Wood Fibers (AWF), a rapidly growing manufacturer of consumer and industrial products sold to other manufacturers and to pet, agricultural and home heating markets, seeks a Plant Supervisor based at its Marysville, CA facility. AWF manufactures at 10 locations spanning the nation, has 400 employees, and corporate sales are above $100 million annually.

The Plant Supervisor is responsible for general supervision of all phases of plant operations including: production, quality control, maintenance, receiving, and shipping.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of a three (3) shift facility.
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of plant employees in production.
  • Work closely with quality personnel to review product consistency to determine trends and areas of improvement
  • Review established production schedules to insure established inventory levels are met while operating at the highest efficiency possible
  • Coordinate the hiring and training of all production/maintenance personnel
  • Monitor operation expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality
  • Supervises loading and unloading of trucks and completion of paperwork.
  • Conducts daily and month-end inventory count and report
  • Work closely with all personnel to ensure all members of the manufacturing team are aware of safety policies to provide a safe workplace for our employees
  • Work closely with the production team to increase productivity and profitability
  • Facility/physical plant up-keep and capital improvements
  • Annual budget planning and execution

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and five (5) years of relevant management experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations and maintenance
  • Previous experience/strong understanding of budgeting/expense management with a basic understanding of financial and accounting practices
  • Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point and/or Access) to analyze data and trends
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs
  • Highly motivated, results oriented, driven and ability to work in a fast paced environment

Systems Administrator

American Wood Fibers (AWF), a rapidly growing manufacturer of products sold to pet, agricultural, home heating and industrial markets seeks a Systems Engineer based at its Columbia, Maryland corporate headquarters. AWF manufactures at 10 locations spanning the continental U.S., has 400 employees, and generates over $100M in annual sales revenue.

The Systems Engineer will apply expertise to solve first level technical support issues for the end-users.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the design and architecture of AWF core infrastructure including Citrix, Servers, Storage, Networking, and Voice
  • Supports with vendor management and proposals in order to engineer robust solutions for migrating and updating core applications
  • Assists with prioritizing and managing end user requirements for all AWF locations
  • Responsible for initial troubleshooting of AWF core infrastructure when disruptions or outages occur
  • Researches, analyzes, and resolves software, network, mobile and hardware questions and problems
  • Applies expertise to solve first level technical support issues for the end-users

Key Responsibilities of a Customer Service Representative/ Administrative Assistant:

  • Accurately enter orders, coordinate shipment details with customers, internal production and shipping teams. Negotiate freight rates for delivery.
  • Interacting with customers via phone and email, providing customer service excellence in a business-to-business (B2B) sales support environment.
  • Ability to interact with sales managers and thrive in a sales team environment.
  • Develop sales relationships with existing customers to secure repeat orders and sell the full AWF portfolio of products.
  • Solve customer issues in an efficient and prudent manner.
  • General accounting support to include: posting cash receipts, data entry and accounts payable and receivable support.
